Bidra med feedbackI have been there a couple of times, however, they have now left and an Indian Restaurant has opened in its place. I will be reviewing this soon.
Italian up the road from my friend's apartment. On the face of it we were expecting a typical Italian restaurant. The portions are supersized!Everything was outstandingly fresh. The antipasti was spread over two already sizeable serving platters. My main was gorgeous swordfish with a truffle frittata - the latter being fantastically moist. The star of the show was the pistachio semi fredo which held the pistachio flavours very well. The chocolate cake was great too.
Frankfurt has a number of hidden gems but by far the best Italian meal I have had in my life was at this wonderful place in Sachsenhausen. The restaurant is 2m walk from Schweizerstrasse Ubahn (U1,2,3 & 8) and has very little frontage which wont encourage walk-ins but we were told about the place and it was good. I went with an Italian and he was likewise impressed. The menu is a little limited but what they made, they made amazingly. I would liked to have seen a proper Italian Carbonara on the menu but failing that, the Bruschetta was excellent (filling too, do not over order) and my main was cooked perfectly (Spaghetti with truffles). My friends Steak Tartar was amazing though, large, slightly cooked (which is cheating but a style and if you have it, you will understand so please don't be put off). Very tasty. Great service, charming spunky pretty Italian lady, very professional and very capable. Good haus wine and staff were all laughing and joking together at closing time and clearly got along well (family?). We felt very looked after.
Had walked by this place on previous trips and just walked by.Finally visited this fine establishment.Definitely a family affair.Momma, see picture, daughter and son round out the crew.Small place but the service and food are big.Good quality but small menu and wine list.Everyone you will need served.I will be back
Delizie has an interesting decadent family restaurant atmosphere. The staff are casual and friendly. Service is good. Wine list is short and interesting. But quality of food... The carpaccio was wet end cold, probably frozen. Probably the too hot shrimps in oil as well. Antipasto Gigante partly quite nice otherwise. Our two pastas were not typical Italian, one too saucy and one had a strange dry cheese taste. Toilet area reinforces feeling of sloppy quality.
