Bidra med feedbackSo much charm and sincere love for food and art in this little cafe. Cute covered balcony room, main dining room, and a few bakery-side tables. We came around 1:30pm on a Monday and it was busy but not crowded. By 2pm it was very quiet and relaxing. Beautiful paintings on the walls. Fantastic, diverse, and asian-influenced classic American brunch menu available all day. Great specials too.
Got the coconut French toast and was incredible. Friend got a side of potatoes which were tasty. My friend enjoyed her food too : would happily go back
It was a nice spot for brunch. Service could have been better, maybe we came in a wrong day and had a bad waiter. Ordered pumpkin pancakes with fruits bowl on the side, notified the waiter of the missing fruits, finally it came out when I almost finished the meal, not only he did not apologize for it but when he brought it out, placed it on the table and left with an attitude. No smiles whatsoever the whole time, maybe he had a bad day? Maybe he?s the owner/manager that doesn?t care? The rest of the staff were nice. Leaving 3 stars because of this experience that ruined our mood for brunch.
Had a break between baseball games at Skip Wilson Field so we decided to try Zakes based on proximity and Google reviews. I called ahead and even on a Sunday midmorning they were able to seat us right away. The restaurant is in a converted stone house so there is a unique charm to the surroundings. We were seated on the enclosed porch which was nice, I prefer to eat outside but this was fine. After sitting for a few minutes our drink order was taken then shortly after our waitress took our order. Their menu is what you expect for a breakfast and lunch place. There were at least a half dozen items I would have liked to try but settled on the honey and lemon pancakes with raspberries. WOW these were good! Not only were they good but it was just a few minutes after ordering that the food came out. The staff was very friendly and attentive to the customers. Prices were reasonable for what you got, I look forward to eating there again. Additionally, they use paper straws not plastic, THANK YOU!
Zakes Cafe made the most delicious and beautiful carrot cake for our wedding. My husband and I love carrot cake and this was the best we?ve ever had. We?re looking forward to our one year anniversary so that we can eat the rest!
