Took my fiancé for his birthday to HY’s. It is the same consistent quality, service, and atmosphere. We sat at the two top next to the open air grill.The table side Caesar salad, and Banana’s Foster were fun to watch. Of course the steaks and lobster and crab cakes, to the different sides were phenomenal.Everyone from the valet, the front of the house on back made his birthday extra enjoyable. And we have another picture to add to our HY’s collection.We wanted to take the wedding guests to HY’s for the reception but they won’t be back open until May. I already have a reservation for when they re-open. Parking: Free valet parking, tip generously please.
The taste was the best, but the server with a bald head and beard named Chris frequently checked and paid attention to me when comparing other tables, but he didn't pay any attention and just threw his plate away without saying a word. Everyone else made dessert themselves, but 20 minutes later, another server did it for me. Maybe it was an illusion, but when I was paying the bill, I came late and gave a small tip, so in that case, I came the fastest and asked for it. This was the fastest time I was served. I really liked the taste, atmosphere, and all the other servers, and they were the best, but one person, Chris, ruined the whole mood. I never made a mistake, and I actually looked up. I bowed and thanked him. If you are assigned to Chris's server, ask for it to be changed. Except for Chris's server, everyone is friendly.PS I said it was where President Obama sat, but after reading other reviews, it became clear. This is racism. Koreans, take note.
Old school at its absolute best! From the moment you walk in, you are immersed in a world of long ago. Service was outstanding with some dishes prepared table side. Kudos to Nick, Brett, and Ruger. We are looking forward to returning after their three months of renovations.
It had been 7 years since we dined at Hy's so it was time and just in time before they closed for renovations. There were several menu items not available but making a different selection was easy. Hy's staff is well trained and attentive to their guests. Our server, Dayle, was exceptional and we had a great time joking around with him. We had cocktails before we ordered an brought our own wine and paid thr corkage fee. Food quality and taste was excellent. Some if what we ordered: shrimp cocktail, escargot, oysters Rockefeller, warm spinach salad, Caesar salad, Garlic steak, 1/2 rack of lamb, beef wellington, Delmonico, filet mignon and grilled asparagus. Dessert was Bananas foster and Chocolate Lovers prepared table side. Watch for when they reopen and go have a wonderful meal because we will be back for certain.
