The Standard Downtown - Fort Myers

We ordered the Radio City sandwich and the meat was a strange consistency. It didn’t taste good. When I told our server she asked if we wanted a discount and we responded “that’s up to you”. She said she would talk her manager and when she came back the explanation was that probably because they use 2 meats so maybe that’s why I didn’t care for it. She said that “they tried the meat” in the back and it was ok. I’m not sure if they ate what I sent back. When she said that they tried it and gave the explanation why I maybe didn’t care for it I said “it’s no problem, thank you”. The server was knowledgeable and nice. Her manager/cook put her in a position that they should have handled. I was not looking for a free meal but when you own a restaurant and someone sends food back I would think they would want to make it right. They didn’t.

The food and cocktails were delicious! We went during brunch and I highly recommend! The atmosphere was an added bonus.

There are lots of better options to eat in dt fort Myers than The Standard. Staff is fine but the food is very average. For the price it is not definitely worth it. Very little flavor and lifeless. So many awesome spots to eat down here, don’t go there. At least not for lunch or or dinner.

Before heading for 4th of July fireworks tried this restaurant and asked for the chicken parmigiana -taste was good “but” pasta wasn’t“al dente “…also my wife asked for bolognese penne pasta with same results…service was good.
