Bidra med feedbackAgain I have given a business a second chance and it blew up in my face. Tried to get a brisket sandwich this time. Went to the line and you can't get it made fresh. Only pre made, sauced and wrapped and out under a heat lamp. So I take a look at the line and EVERTHING is burnt I mean EVERYTHING, mac and cheese, chicken, hot links all of it was black. And they were still serving and the broken pallets where buying smdh. I rolled the dice and got a over heated brisket sandwhich. Let me tell you this was absolutely horrible. I got a half of a sandwhich after I pulled off all the fat and soggy bread. They don't even make their own ice tea. Man what BBQ place doesn't have ice tea? Snapple ice tea doesnt count. $9.75 for a single sandwhich and snapple tea. If the sandwhich was good I'd be all for it. But the edible brisket was chewy and lacked the wood flavor it needs.
I finally made my way back to Le Pough's and am still a fan. I had two hotlinks, baked beans, and mac cheese. The links were good, I expected them to be spicier but they were flavorful and the special mustard was exceptional, which made up for the spice difference. Baked beans were still outstanding. The mac cheese was a little dry and not very cheesy but it was good. I typically don't eat mac cheese except for at home, but all the others sides were out. You have to get to Le Poughs early because they run out food. I can understand this as meat is a high dollar item and this is only a stand. I will still visit, I will have to adjust my times though. Standing in line and seeing others get the last piece of chicken or last rib is a little demoralizing after standing in the hot sun...and it is only May!
Amazing does not even begin to describe this place!! The food is to die for and I crave this place all the time! We even had them cater an event and everyone wanted more. The peach cobbler is out of this world and I hide it in the frig so only I can have it. The BBQ has the most delicious flavor along with the sauce. Don't ask what kind of style BBQ this is because the owner is from Florida and man does he know what he's doing. My go to meal is the pork and beans. His savory baked beans with pineapple topped with his tasty BBQ is my favorite. I've also had the ribs that fall off the bones and leave you licking your fingers for more and his whole smoked chicken!! YES... a whole chicken which I also hid in the frig so no one else could have it. This is the place you want to try and you will be going back for more!!
Authentic BBQ, smoker fired up in parking lot. Family run business, not a chain. Surprisingly good considering not a traditional Carolina style BBQ. Unusual BBQ sauce home made tasty. Worth the visit. Only 5 minutes from interstate
I had the large chopped pork sammich, potato salad, and mac and cheese. The potato salad was probably the best I have ever had, but the other things were just mediocre. The sauce was good, (mustard based) but rather than sparingly using on the sammich just put a cup of it in the box. I most likely wont return due to the high cost compared to.what else you can get in the surrounding areas bbq joints. My three items came out to $12.72. Plus the place sprayed starting fluid right on the wood underneath all the meats. So give it a try for yourself, but you wont see me there again.
