Bidra med feedbackI don't understand why people line up to eat at this Greek restaurant with mediocre food. The hummus is very salty and peppery, served with stale bread. The portion sizes for the meat dishes are small and overpriced. The atmosphere is lacking, with waiters rushing customers out for tips and the owner showing no interest in feedback. Owner Sam seems to think highly of himself, but the dishes, like the $30 lamb chops, are disappointing and bland. Almost everything tastes like lemon, with a lack of variety in flavors. The food is mediocre and overpriced, with no clear reason for the restaurant's popularity.
This place is selected. Every time I go with the service and food is 100% perfection. I really don't know how they do it. Her salads are incredible and her hummus is dying. Grateful for old schools like these. The saganaki is amazing, the lamb hacks are also great.
When it comes to ethnic food, it is hard for an American to actually know what authentic food is from different countries, unless one was born in a foreign country or has lived abroad long enough to experience certain cultures. I have eaten in many different Greek restaurants in the USA, including Astoria, NY and Tarpon Springs, FL (these 2 cities contain the largest Greek) population the USA) and I must admit that, according to my taste, the Greek island Taverna wins hand-down. And that must be the reason why it has a long waiting list for lunch or dinner.
Great place for Greek food. The only problem here is getting a table and they don't take reservations so much luck. This time we went to dinner at 4:00, which was pretty good. The photos speak for themselves.
Incredible food, there are no reservations bit moving the lines. From the appetizers to the main course everything was delicious. The cyroses were perfectly spiced. In addition, the Pita Dip Sampler was great. For the main we had all different dishes. The shrimps were unbelievable, but the lamb, oh the lamb was cooked for perfection and just really spiced.
