We went, we drank beer and talked. Friendly family run local with locals cally in for an aperitif and/or gossip.

We had coffee and beers at this restaurant several times over a period of a month in Forges les Eaux with different visitors. We were always made welcome and they serve excellent coffee and even brought a bowl of water for the dog! The owners are pleasant and happy to have a conversation and a laugh and a joke with you in both French and English. We finally managed to have lunch there one Sunday having always said we would like to as the daily menus always look so good and reasonable. We were not disappointed. 19Euros for 4 courses was excellent value and the food was good. They also have a reasonable wine list. We also had a snack lunch of croque monsieur and frites on a different day which was also good. We will be going back!
