Bidra med feedbackUnderstaffed, limited menu. I came for the seafood chowder listed on the website. Change your website and put the new menus out there. This was my last night in Ireland would have gone elsewhere had I known the menu on their site was inaccurate. The hotel itself was beautiful, tge grounds were beautiful.
I had a very disappointing experience in the Peacock restaurant. I booked a weekend stay at the hotel and decided on the back of good reviews and the website which mentions a sumptuous dining experience, booked dinner for Friday night for my partner and I. On arrival at the entrance to the restaurant we browsed the menu which was on display.. among other items we noted seafood chowder and a variety of steaks. However once seated in what was essentially an empty restaurant we were presented with an A4 sheet with 3 starters 3 mains And 3 desserts... The highlight of this menu was cod and chips! Naturally I assumed a mistake had been made and enquired with the waiter. This was apparently the menu for the evening due to there being a new chef and not having all the ingredients. At this point we debated whether to stay and eat or travel into Liffey valley. Ultimately we decided to stay and eat. I should point out at this stage that there was nothing wrong with the food that we were served and the gentleman that served us was pleasant and apologetic. I am aggrieved that nobody had contacted me prior to my reservation to inform me of the issues they were clearly having. Why was I able to browse a menu that wasn't available? This was an altogether disappointing experience. If it had been possible to give no stars then I would have.
Food was good. Place is a little dated. Nothing spectacular.
Great food and very nice atmosphere. Nice little spot out of the way.
Good value for money, pleasnt staff, nice surroundings
