I HATE giving bad reviews. In my search for the best Gelato, we went way out of our way to go to Spoleto to visit Crispini. It was easy enough to find and we got lucky with parking. This was supposed to be the world champion in Gelato with their Pistacchio creation. And I would just say it was good but I felt that the Pistacchio at Dondoli in San Gimignano was just as good if not better. But the young woman behind the counter ruined it for us. As soon as she figured out we were Americans (even though I spoke to her in Italian), out came the attitude and she was well she was not nice (there are probably other words that more accurately reflect how she treated us). Not a good reflection on the owner and (I have no doubt) his attempt at creating a world class gelato business.

Always on the hunt for the best gelato we found Crispini which had won a world award for their pistachio flavour. It was indeed wonderful as was the coconut which you can’t always find in Italy. Recommended
