Il Cantuccio - Firenze

We were lucky to find this place right near our hotel. We preferred morning coffee here rather than the hotel coffee. It was also our favorite place to end each night. The owner is so sweet and goes unmatched in customer service. We spent so much time here we ended up meeting the owner, his wife, and their little daughters.

We had coffee while we waited for our hotel to be ready. we ordered the cash register to pay the corpeto, coffee was in order.

This is an unfussy restaurant which serves great value meals nothing at all fancy! The fixed price menu at €14.50 in the evening gives you a choice of two dishes (typically a pasta and a meat dish) and a side from the menu and 250ml wine. I also recommend the Bistecca alla Fiorentina (T bone steak) which includes a starter, a side, bottled water and wine for €2.

This has to be one of the best bars in Florence. Very simple decor, Fu and his wife are absolutely wonderful and the drinks are KILLER!!! We have been to Florence 3 times and always stop there. Looking forward to going back.
