Fantasie Gastronomiche - Firenze

We arrived at our hotel and needed some lunch and this place was close by. We had lasagne meat balls and spinach and ricotta and it was all amazing. The gent there was super helpfull and talked me through what they had. The place was just what I imagine when i picture a cafe/deli in Italy and I loved the layout and fresh food on offer. We also had great value wine and i could have tried everything on offer as it all looked so good. Its off the beaten track but very authentic and the food was truely anazing. The guy spoke enough English to help me decide and the price was very good indeed. If you are near dont miss this place.

Freshly made focaccia sandwich and a beer for lunch. Staff were super friendly and spoke English to help with my ordering. Relaxing delicatessen/cafe.

My husband and I were staying at the nearby Starshotel and were looking for a quick bite. How fortunate we were to have opted for Fantasie Gastronomiche. This is small deli/grocery with some seating. They serve and sell wine as well as cocktails. What I loved most was Stefano( whose English was 1000 times better than our Italian) he made suggestions of some local specialties and convinced us to try some local red wines.. reasonable and delicious. We enjoyed ourselves so much that decided to return the next day for a cocktail and met the owner Lorenzo. We spent 1/10th of what our fellow tour mates spent on a meal and had 10 times more fun.

We were staying in Via Magenta and quickly became regulars at this super little coffee shop/deli. We were always made to feel so welcome, we simply didn’t consider anywhere else. Cappuccino and a seeded croissant: perfect start to the day. If we had stayed longer we would have had ordered takeaway meals because they had such a range. I am sorry I missed the roast beef sandwich because it looked fabulous and the reviews (read since my return to the UK) suggest they taste as good as they looked. Next time! Well worth seeking out this love cafe.

A wonderful little delicatessen with a great selection of home cooked dishes. The Sicilian wine suggested was perfect. I had a version of French Toast a dish of olives and my husband had a type of meatball. For under 20€ the best value we have had this week. Take away or there are a few little tables to stay and eat
