La Piazzetta - FINO MORNASCO

We were staying about 20 minutes away in Appiano Gentile, we had gone for a drive and found a children's playground in the small town of Fino Mornasco. We noticed this place in the centre close to the church. The restaurant looked busy but they had a great table that seated our party of 8 , the customers were business people, workmen, all apparently having the menu di jiorno at 11euro. I always look for places used by locals, we were not disappointed the food was excellent, my favourite was the filled gnocchi, I could eat that every day , others had rabbit, grilled pork, and fusilli, the children had a simple pasta with tomatoe sauce ,which they were happy with.The young lady who served us was very pleasant and patient, despite them being very busy her English was slightly better than my Italian. At 11 euro per adult(5) plus drinks and children's meals(3) the total bill was €103. A very pleasant experience in a local town, it is off the main tourist track but if you find yourself in this area, it is definitely worth a visit. There is also gelateria across the road which the children enjoyed.
