The train brings so much life to our little town. My husband and I spent our first Valentines day on the Trains mystery dinner and we had a blast. The actors were amazing and the food was delicious and filling. Everyone who rides was really cool and joined in on the fun. We have done the mystery dinner two more times, never a disappointment! We actually found our wedding venue because the train made a stop near the Glenn Tavern (thanks! And we fell in love with it. During one halloween time, my dad was very I'll and I was struggling. Hubby decided to make me get out of the house for a suprise. That was the zombie hunting train. If you like paintballing and hunting zombies, THIS IS THE JAM! I had so much fun, I can't even begin to describe. At one point the conductor called out one of the actors on the field as his best friend and told us to aim straight for him haha this was literally the best thing ever! Awhile back when my sister was pregnant with her youngest, she spoke to the train people about a surprise announcement on the Christmas train to let my parents know the news. Santa came out and hand my parents a gift box with the baby news and evryone cheered! It was beautiful and so so sweet! A few months ago I took several of my young neices for the ride that takes you to the barn with animals and hay rides. They live out of town and had never been on a train before. They were in awe and loved every second of it! Last month two of my neices stayed with me for weeks and everyday after work I'd take them to the City Hall in town so we could walk along the tracks and see the trains. I took tons of photos because I feel they change the overall feel of our town, in a positive way. I hope they continue on making memories for our families for generations to come.

On the weekends, they have a train that travels from Fillmore to Santa Paula and back. Round trip, it 's four hours, and there are stops at Santa Paula (1 hour and 20 minutes), and the Loose Caboose (30 minutes), a tourist trap about 10 minutes from Santa Paula. The train is clean and well-kept. There is running water, working toilets, and two bathrooms on the train for customers to use. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating is comfy, but the air conditioning is running at full-blast, and can get rather cold. We opted to sit outdoors, which provided a nice breeze (the train travels about 15 mph) while you watch the scenery go by. It is equal parts industrial scenes and orchards; warehouses and orange groves. Santa Paula isn 't much to write home about. Stop by Rabelais, a cafe and bakery that serves up tasty cookies and brownies. I believe there is a Museum of Agriculture that actually looked pretty cool from the train (we didn 't have enough time to explore it given the limited time there). The conductor told us that the railway was in between ownership, so let 's hope they continue these weekend rides, as it was a nice way to spend the afternoon.

Had a really fun day with the family on the Flmore Western train from Filmore to Santa Paula. The scenic trip is relaxing and fun with two stops. Only complaint is that there is not enough time in Santa Paula to see the town. Second time to take this train ride and plan to go again. They are requiring masks and practicing social distancing. The Honey Stop has been hit by the pandemic but is still a cool little place (and they are rebuilding). Definately a unique and fun day to spend with family or friends.
