Saida - Figline valdarno

This place serves you an excellent coffee with no surcharge if you sit on the terrace. The selection of pastries is one of the best in town. Very nice interior for rainy days and winter time.

Saida is a café, bar and restaurant and just happened to be directly downstairs from the Airbnb flat I was renting in the lovely town of Figline Valdarno. I did not dine here but I did eat snacks and drink both coffee and beer at various times. In style and ambiance, Saida feels more like a coffe-shop and patisserie than anything else. There is a tempting display of cakes and pastries behind the glass counter and those that I tried were, indeed, delicious. The coffee is also good and there is the usual kind of lager-type local beer on tap. I particularly enjoyed sitting out front of Saida, sheltered by the attractive colonnades and gazing out upon the large and attractive piazza that sits at the heart of Figline's old town. Service is pleasant and brisk. A good place to stop and enjoy the scene.
