Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant is very ambiguous on its website, shows only vegetarian pictures and to enjoy as a place for vegans/vegetarians. When the manager confirms vegetarian/vegan. When we arrived, a menu was filled with meat options. We are very strict on our vegetarian/vegan restaurants and will not eat in a meat restaurant. This was a disappointment after the 30 min travel time.
The staff at Dar attajalli was very friendly. They picked us up from our Riad and brought us to the restaurant/farm. We were seated for dinner immediately, but were surprised when we were presented with the bill before finishing our meal. The prices were quite high compared to other restaurants in Morocco, and we were charged for a bottle of water multiple times. Despite the cost, the food was excellent - well-prepared and delicious. We felt that we should have received more food for the price we paid, or that the prices should have been lower. We have dined at other farms in the area with equally good vegetarian and vegan options, but at much better prices. We likely would not return to Dar attajalli in the future, but it is good to know that there is a vegetarian option available in the city.
The food at this restaurant was expertly crafted with a perfect blend of spices and fresh herbs. It was hands down the best vegan cuisine I have ever tasted. Every ingredient was fresh and bursting with flavor. While the set menu was on the pricier side, it was worth it for the inventive new vegan dishes prepared with flair and passion. The only downside was that I dined alone since reservations were required.
The owner has done an excellent job restoring the guesthouse, and there were some standout moments during our dining experience. We began with some average salads, followed by two delicious but small soups served in juice glasses. The highlight of the meal was the delicious artichoke tangine for the main course. The dessert, while good, was also on the smaller side. However, it should be noted that this dining experience came at a higher cost compared to other restaurants in Morocco.
The people in Dar attajalli were very nice. They came to pick us up at our riad and took us to the restaurant/study house. We came straight to the meal but were asked to continue paying. The meal was very expensive to start considering Moroccan prices and we were also charged more than three times what a bottle of water costs. Oh good. We thought we would just enjoy dinner. The food was really good. Very well prepared and tasty. However, I feel that we would have gotten more food for what we paid, or we would have charged a lot less. We ate at other establishments while here where the food was just as good, including vegetarian and vegan, but the prices were a lot less. I probably wouldn't go back to Dar attajalli unfortunately, but still nice to know that there is a vegetarian only option in town.
