Felton Music Hall

I like to support local businesses but the latest food managers at the Felton Music Hall are making it very difficult. Who puts a menu QR code on a timer? Or it just not accessible. If there are questions, who can you contact? No phone number. The bar does not know. The business is separate from the bar now? How are locals suppose to know you changed the menu? Has it changed or does your current menu just not have enough information. Are you a new restaurant? So basically, customers service is nonexistent. Fortunately, the food is still good...if you managed to get it. But, I really did not know what i was going to get. Until things change a bit, not sure when I will be back. I was hoping to pick up food before rush hour on a Friday.

So if you're trying to decide where to get something to eat in Felton, this is where you should be going. The first thing you see when you walk in is a massive bar, but don't let that throw you off, the secret I'd in the kitchen. Best barbacoa tacos I've ever had, crispy delicious french fries, shawarma wrap (a welcome menu item! , great burgers, and who doesn't like tater tots? It's mostly a local clientele, but when it's a show night, it will get packed in a hurry, with people coming from around the bay to see shows like KT Tunstall, Mathew Sweet, John Craigie, Todd Snyder, Steve Earle, Don Flemons, etc. This place is a gold mine in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Quite literally the Friday fried chicken night supersedes my expectations of what a little town in the Bay can do. I always get the family size meal and a second four piece meal I got a mash potato and gravy a potato salad and two mac cheese the foods always amazing. Don't forget to start off with the delightful pretzel it is what every fresh pretzel should taste, like the cheese sauce is screaming good. We visit here probably every three weeks I always look forward to the ciders on tap. Never would've believed that this place would be as good as it is. Congrats to the chef every single time the food is freaking amazing the honey butter on the fresh biscuits I mean unbelievably good never has the food bin subpar!

Came early for dinner and drinks before a show. There was a decent crowd, but it took very little time to get in an order. The bartenders are super friendly and attentive. The Jalapeno poppers were fantastic. They make them perfectly. Beware, the heat levels change from pepper to pepper. My friend thinks the coleslaw was the best that he has ever had. I tried some and it was delicious. The tots were just right. The burger needed more salt. I had the jack and bacon and it just seemed bland. The music venue doesn't have a lot of seats but there were plenty when the show got rolling.

Great venue for live music. Excellent food, string fries and chicken strips to die for! Excellent bartenders and food runners. BUT, I witnessed a very disturbing thing. At a reggae show a security staff member aggressively smacked joints out of peoples hands and screamed at them. It was so out of character for the vibe of the venue and the event. That whole thing could have been handled so much better. To go straight to an 11 was bizarre to witness.
