Restaurante Pontinha Lda - Faro

We had lunch at one of the outside tables. Waiter seemed not interested in serving us. The food however was very good.

This restaurant was a recommendation from portuguese people. We had the cataplana for 2 people with tenderloin. The meat was very soft and delicious. The clams and prawns were fresh from the harbour. The service guy was very friendly and also tried to talk to us in german. That was kind of funny and we enjoyed our stay. The pricing of the food is very good. So, this restaurant is worth a visit! Thank you!

We attended as a large group last year and everyone was happy with their meal. We chose to eat here again on our trip during half term. My husband and myself had steak on a stone, yet again, it was delicious, the steak very tender and well seasoned with some very tasty sauces to accompany. My son really enjoyed his Portuguese Steak, he says it is his favourite, he asked the waiter for the recipe and he was happy to show him what had been used. The meals are large that we were able to share them with the younger children. The waiter brought out a tray of different puddings which I thought was nice so you could see them rather than view just from the menu, he explained what they were and so we tried one. Definitely worth eating there and hopefully see you next time we are in Faro.

I had the economic menu and enjoyed bread and olives, BBQ chicken with chips and a small chocolate mousse. My wife had clams with garlic which were tender and delicious plus a dessert. With half a bottle of vino verde and two sparkling waters the bill was just €32.50.Service was friendly and helpful. We will return!

This restaurant was recommended by a local resident as serving great Cataplana and I can confirm this to be true. Simple tomato salad, bread, Cataplana and much white wine for €43. I’m not recommending this because of the price though the Cataplana was delicious and nice to be in a restaurant with only Portuguese people.
