Bidra med feedbackWe would never have come across this place. A friend suggested we should come with him for a lunch which would be 'the best value ever '. I must be honest, lunch for us is more likely to be a bifana or a tosta. We prefer our main meal to be in the evening, so the sheer quantity here was a bit daunting. It 's a bit like eating in the works canteen, located as it is close to the Industrial Zone. It 's buffet style, in that you take your tray along the counter and ask for a portion of whatever you fancy, The price appears to include lots of salad items, as many main course options as you wish, coffee and a drink. On offer when we went were turkey, pork, a range of pasta dishes with chourico, bacon etc; peas and eggs (nicer than it sounds), and others I forget, There were boiled potatoes, chips, potatoes cooked with the turkey, rice, black beans and much more I can 't remember. There was a special available (not included in the price) griddled cuttlefish. We asked for a small portion to try. They gave us 2 whole chocos! This was washed down with a litre of vinho verde and a beer. The whole lot came to 17 euros, complete with apologies for the added price due to the addition of chocos! This place is enormous, inside and out, has a play area and even advertises availability for functions. It seems to be managed by a Ukrainian chap with Portuguese staff (not too much English spoken). The outside dining area is so pleasant and peaceful, despite the predominance of busy factory workers 'refuelling ' for the afternoon shift. Life was made easier for us because we were accompanied/introduced by someone who had once worked there. However, it 's a really friendly place and I am sure we would have got by on our own, even if we may not have known what we were eating. I 'm sure we 'll find time to visit in the evening on our next trip. I 'd sum it up as a way of experiencing what eating out might be like if you were living in Olhao on a budget, when you can 't afford to spend every evening frequenting the restaurants in the Mercado area.
