We have always been big supporters of the Bel Dragon. The ambience is really lovely and although the prices are high (for both food and drink), we have in the past had no problem paying. We booked to eat lunch in February when the Bel Dragon were advertising a two course menu. The manager only offered the A La Carte menu and seemed quite surprised (and not too pleased) when we asked to see the set menu. Food was very average. Overall disappointing.

The restaurant was a lovely setting, especially on a cold snowy night, with open fires providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. We were particularly drawn to this venue because of its vegan menu, which offers properly nutritious meals, rather than just meat or vegetarian options with the meat/dairy/eggs removed. Overall, we were satisfied with our meals, although disappointed that the advertised vegan dessert (pineapple and peach ravioli) was unavailable. The only alternative dessert offered was vegan ice cream or sorbet, which was not ideal on a snowy winter evening. One minor complaint was that the open fire in the restaurant had gone out completely, despite it being a quiet night with only a few tables occupied. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with room for improvement.
