Open Road - Falls Church

It had been a while since I've eaten at OR. Happily, the same menu items I've always loved were still offered. I brought two friends who had never eaten here and they LOVED it! Bruschetta, grilled salmon, the fabulous Kentucky butter cake, and so many more! Will definitely return!

Service was exceptionally poor. We arrived during a slow period, and still waited over 5 minutes for our server to first arrive. After our food arrived, which was fine, it was radio silence again, with the server disappearing to the kitchen for another 40 minutes. We finally asked a host for our check, which arrived 5+ minutes later. The waiting wasn't over though! After 10 more minutes of their dissapearing act, we had to ask the host again if someone could actually ring us out. A few minutes later the server reappeared from the kitchen and finally rung us out. On top of this, it was COLD inside and unfortunately too windy to sit outside. We won't be back!

Bartenders are great and pour very good cocktails. Food is pretty good to excellent the steak frites at the top end of the spectrum. The oft heralded popcorn is strangely provided to some but not others. Parking lot is insufficient, so the $10 valet charge is obnoxious (certainly at 6pm) when things are full with some (poorly) signed auxiliary lots close by with more capacity.

The brought out popcorn ? when you sit down at the table. Popcorn!! Funny choice, but was perfect! They have lots of things on the menu I think could make everyone happy! Steak, chicken, pasta, salads, tacos, burgers pizza. It's a great and very nice spot! Parking: Right by restaurant, easy parking. Kid-friendliness: We had 4 teens with us and they sat separately. Waitress helped each table and split the checks accordingly. Great place. There was a big age range of kids there.
