Bidra med feedbackWe 've been eyeing this place for about two years, my husband decided to get some food yesterday for Mother 's Day. The place is ran by wife (chef), husband (who took our orders) and the son (who was platting the food). The man was very friendly and appreciated our large order, over well 100. He gave me a free water ice and let use know that the food will take around 25 minutes. We went out to the car enjoyed the water ice. When my husband went to pick up the order. The wife was ranting, yelling, and cussing, yes cussing at the customers! Im not taking no more orders, don 't give a f@ if you leave, i don 't need your money! It 's Mother 's Day, I 'm the chef, I 'm having a issue with my husband and i don 't give a eff! My husband let her know we already ordered. She snatched the receipt out of his hand, took it to the back and continued to yell. Everyone was uncomfortable. On top of that the food was scarce. ridiculously small portions. And everything was mediocre. The seafood platter was the worst!! She slammed a jar of garlic on top of everything. The potatoes were over cooked, they plopped an un cut sausage in the middle of everything. Gross. I 'm never going there again. They really missed out because we love supporting our local black owned businesses. We were anticipating it would be our spot. They would have gotten all our money. A shame.
Don't miss an opportunity to enjoy this food experience. The owner is a very personable gentleman. The food choices are AWESOME.
I celebrated my birthday earlier this evening in this great place. I am glad to say that we had a delightful evening and the place was no doubt the reason for the happy gathering. The stuff contributed in a sweet manner, the meals were extremely good and my guests were so cheerful. We shall no dout visit again for more events. Thank you very much.
I absolutely love this restaurant! My catfish dinner, which comes with macaroni and cabbage, is always fresh and delicious. Occasionally, I find the yams to be a bit too sweet, and I think two dinners can be a bit pricey, but it’s hard to find good quality food and friendly service at local soul food spots (cough Annie Laura's). So, it’s definitely worth it for a weekend meal. I haven’t tried the meat dishes myself, but my friend raved about the jerk wings. I always place my orders online to skip the wait.
The brisket was incredibly tender and juicy, and the sides were excellent as well. I plan to return to try the fish and seafood boil if it's still available. The wait time was quite long, so I recommend calling in your order ahead of time.
