Bidra med feedbackThe food quality and variety has definitely improved last year. They also offer all you can eat after 4:30pm. Just load up that tray and come back for some more... you could even save a bit for breakfast and lunch to save some money.
Food is alright at best, the service is the real problem. The cook is exceedingly grumpy every time I go, and if you don’t hear your name called the first time, or if you order through the app and aren’t there right when it’s done, he only gets grumpier.
Good food, could be priced less for the struggling college student
This university has the Geophysical Institute which allows us to learn so much about Alaska, their animals such as seals, bears, salmon, moose, and caribou. In addition there's a museum that holds information about Aurora lights (Borealis and Australia). Also have info about history of Alaska Pipeljne how it started and how they built 800 miles. Incredible! This university also has dorms and parking is convenient. Many students eager to learn and I love that.
Ahh, this review is solely for the University Bookstore. We made a quick trip up to Fairbanks from Denali National Park to hit up a major supermarket for their Western Union. I wasn't going to drive all the way to Fairbanks and back to Denali just for a Western Union. I needed to make the gas guzzling trip worth it so I did a quick search for University of Alaska Fairbanks and decided to check out the bookstore. I love books and thought I might be able to pick up some souvenirs here as well. Luckily, I was right! The abundance of items in this bookstore was definitely surprising! There were t-shirts, sweatshirts, notebooks, coffee cups, pint glasses, mittens, scarves, hats, yoga mats... pretty much anything you could ever need AND there was a huge sale going on, making a college bookstore affordable for once! I got two t-shirts and a sweatshirt for myself, a t-shirt for my mom, a t-shirt for my cousin, and a pint glass and it was under $100. They had North Face gloves and scarves discounted at least 40%, too. It was tempting to resist buying more but I did have to consider it was June and I had limited space in my backpack... I wish I could have bought more though! The University as a whole was easy to find, well-maintained, and the bookstore signage was prominent. Parking was easy although it should be noted it was June and I'm assuming a lot of students returned home for summer. Driving around the campus heading back down towards Denali was a real treat... We don't have rock climbing walls, animals, etc. on college campuses in Western New York! I hope to return to Fairbanks someday and I'll definitely stop at the University while I'm in the area!
