This place was just a few minutes from our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. The food was delicious and the prices are reasonable. We got the meka (swordfish) and salmon, both with fries. The fish was perfectly cooked and was so flavorful on its own. The sauces were all good. The barbecue sauce is a little on the sweet side. The Roquefort and pepper sauce are both cheese-based and served warm. Overall, we thought this was a great spot for a casual dinner.
Polynesian food with lots of french influence. Truly delicious fresh grilled fish, with a good salad and fries. Price was pretty reasonable $17 for a large grilled fish, fries and bread) and the portions were hearty although me and my travel partner loved it so much there wasn't anything left but some stray fries and a bit of bread). The place was busy and had a pretty varied crowd. Service was quick right at 6 pm, but there was a line after. The ambience was simple but clean, with covered outdoor seating and fun light strings everywhere. As in every restaurant we have gone to on this trip, there was a friendly house cat.
Interesting local vibe. Outdoor restaurant. Cash only. We ate bbq chicken and fish. All platters come with salad. The green beans side was a half a platter enough for 4 people! Probably best off having one person order fries or green beans, for instance, and someone a different side because they are all very large and can be easily shared.
Aro has some basic food that all Tahitian loves and also foreigners who loves eat at the roulotte ,food truck. Not only the portion is quite good but also the taste. The fries are always crispy and I 've never had soggy or cold served, always hot and crispy. If your not and amateur of beef you can also have chicken meat. They basically have two sauce, barbecue and Rockford sauce. Another dishes you will defenitly want to to try is the raw fish! Tahitian raw fish is a must. Coconut milk, lemon with fresh tuna and vegetables!Fresh and delicious.most of the year is hot at night so having a fresh meal is a plus. Very convenient if you want to have one last dinner before taking your flight. Spotted near the airport. Price around the same that you will found anywhere but this is in my top three.
