The Kettle Diner - ey Green

Would have loved to rate the food as we have heard they have great food…however we sat for 15 minutes and NOBODY acknowledged us. We had to ask for someone to stop, they said “Oh, I will find out who your waitress is” but out of the 6 waitresses we saw, nobody came at all and then after another 5 mins we left. Be prepared to wait forever if you get service at all.

They were accommodating due to our special needs. We loved our server and the food. Friendly atmosphere.

8/5/2024 Several friends and I had breakfast at the Kettle this morning. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent. We will certainly return.

I had a takeout order scheduled for a future time as I knew I’d be out around the time. I arrived within 5 minutes of the pickup time and was told my order was being finished. Fast forward 20 minutes later, I get my food and I’m given an apology stating that the order was accidentally made ahead of time so they had to redo it. Normally this wouldn’t bother me too much but I had my dog waiting in the car. She has separation anxiety and it’s also really hot outside (I had all the windows down and moon roof open). As far as the food, I ordered an Au Jus Sandwich with fries, side of Mac n Cheese, and Banana Pudding. The Sandwich and fries were ok. Sandwich lacked seasoning in the meat, which makes sense because the Au Jus was only salt and not much else flavor. Mac n Cheese was also a little disappointing. Wasn’t seasoned well and there wasn’t a lot of cheese. It was all melty in the bottom middle which leads me to believe it was microwaved. The Banana pudding was good, just wish it was packaged separately. The heat from the other dishes essentially liquified the cream and pudding by the time I got home (less than a 10min drive). Overall not the best experience, pretty average. By observation and reading previous reviews, it seems the service typically is spot on and I just experienced an unfortunate error. Food was a little mediocre contrary to other reviews due to the lack of seasoning/flavor.

Food was great, had an omelette with a pecan Belgian waffle. Very good coffee which is a hallmark for a diner. Really busy the whole time and the people are very kind and work extremely hard. Atmosphere is fine but nothing specific to take note of. Great spot and would definitely come again.
