Bidra med feedbackThis is a Mexican restaurant in Burkhardt Plaza off Burkhardt Road. Absolutely delicious! The staff was incredibly friendly, efficient and fast! My food came hot and arrived so fast that it shocked me! There are plenty of parking lots as there is the first store (restore) on the Plaza itself! I went during the week and I am SO GLAD I FOUND THIS RESTAURANT!
Let me tell you how picky I am with my Mexican food. So I'm originally from California, like other Californians claim we have the best Mexican food anywhere in the USA. That is, it is very difficult to find authentic and good tasting Mexican foods on my trips to the USA. This place was amazing. Not as close to mexican food. I'm glad I tried this place. The street tacos first bite reminded me of home! The pastor Burrito. It's just so delicious. And the rice... how Momma does it. In any case, it would eat again!!
Delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine. A wide selection of dishes, as well as many possibilities for taco filling and salsa. Great service, with friendly and fast staff. I recommend the Mangonada and Elote, they are amazing. Taco truck opened in parking late after restaurant close.
La Campirana is a unique Mexican restaurant. You order at the counter, sit down and get your food out. You have a salsa bar, but no chips like a standard Mexican restaurant. You may have chips you can order, I don't know, but I haven't seen anyone. Forget the chips, but... they need food, that's fucking good! My wife and I are vegan and our children eat what they want. I am impressed by the care La Campirana takes in preparing our foods. Vegetables are not cooked on the side of the meat, the rice has no chicken (or any other) stock/breast and they do not use lard in their beans. It is difficult to find a Mexican restaurant that has a safe rice/bean and takes care of the preparation without common cooking areas or utensils. I know I'm one of those annoying vegans, but I really appreciate it! Four years ago, I visited La Campirana. I have some vegetarian Gorditas and everything I remember was pretty sharp and really good. I've never had an authentic Gordita. I left a 5-star rating back then, but there was no rating with him here on Google. I decided I had to write a review this weekend after dinner. Our usual places in Evansville were closed on Sunday when we were in town. We were in a hurry and didn't want the full sit down menu, but wanted something better than Moe 's, Qdoba or Chipotle. Fortunately, my wife remembered La Campirana! I ordered alambres (vegan style). It has onions, peppers and I added Mexican zucchini and potatoes. It also comes with rice and beans together with four (yes, 4) flour tortillas. You can also choose Maistortillas, but I prefer flour. My wife ordered sops, also vegan style, and had grilled cactus with it. My youngest one had a chicken Burrito. We loved it! I've never had sops before and I loved the corn bread base. It was quite different from what I would normally get in a Mexican restaurant. That was Sunday two days ago. I had to go back to Evansville tonight to lift up something. I brought my eldest son and got a ride. We stopped by La Campirana for dinner before we left Evansville. I had Alambres again, but this time added the cactus. He had a carne some burrito. It was fantastic again! The beautified vegetables in the Alambres are never too oily. It is not so hot that you can hardly eat or taste anything. The amount of food is perfect for the four flour tortillas. It tastes good and I don't feel terrible after dinner. I wish I wasn't almost two hours away! The staff before the work of the counters and floor are all very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I cannot thank the kitchen staff enough for the proper preparation of vegan food. It's common that I have meat accidentally in my food in other restaurants. It's just not the case. Thank you La Campirana!
Really enjoyed this fast casual place. The burrito had the thin, chewy flour tortilla that I love. The mushrooms and bean burrito was great to the last bite. We also had enchiladas and my wife loved them, corn tortillas on those.
