Cornbread Café - Eugene

Cornbread Cafe is an adorable vegan diner with a friendly atmosphere. You order at the counter when you walk in, then find a table.

I had chick’n and waffles. I also got to try some things my dining partners ordered! Everything I tried was delicious. (Pictured are the chick’n and waffles, hush puppies and cornbread with maple “butter”.

It was okay, but for one of the top rated places to eat in Eugene I expected a bit more. The chicken and waffles came with breaded chicken, not a typical fried chicken that you usually have with waffles. The chicken itself was really good but the waffles were just like eggo style. We also had the biscuits and gravy and again it was just okay.

Fun diner! Great options for vegans and very healthy portions! You had to bus your own tables which is fine but it meant some of the tables did look a bit janky and there was no room at the bussing station so it was a pretty tense game of Tetris to put your plate away

The food was quite greasy as you'd expect from any comfort food but it was incredibly delicious. The Reuben was particularly amazing and I couldn't stop eating the Cajun fries. The booths could use an update as they were duct taped in spots, but it was clean and the food was great so I'd definitely visit again perhaps for a breakfast item next time!
