I will be honest, we weren't too sure about eating here but it was our last night and hurricane irma was interrupting out vacation plans. We just finished packing and getting gas and really didn't want to venture out because we knew our drive the next day was going to be long. Being from Buffalo, we had to try their breaded wings. They were really good and the seasoning in the breading had a little kick. We have wing dings at a local bar same concept but the breading is a bit bland and you need to dip the wings in hot sauce. These wing really didn't need the hot sauce they had a great flavor. But what I liked the most they gave us an option for Ranch or Blue cheese. It the south, they generally serve it with Ranch. So yes, that was a nice touch and happy they offered both. Great Job to the chef here because I did have a CBC earlier in the week and it was spectacular. And breakfast foods were all great quality for being free. Enjoyed the fresh fruit with breakfast. Hopefully we will be back soon missed out on spending time with family and leaving early. Hoping all the employees are safe and out of arms way.
Melissa, Marci, and Kenny are fantastic! Even during the manager's reception, when things are really busy, they remain friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again because of their amazing service.
For starters, the menu mentioned "crispy Brussels sprouts," but what we received was a soggy mess that looked like it had been pulled from a freezer. They were neither crispy nor edible; we managed to eat a few and left the rest untouched. Next, the menu promised grilled asparagus, but what we were served was merely limp, steamed asparagus that had no flavor. We only managed to eat two spears before leaving the rest on the plate. The sautéed broccoli was just plain steamed broccoli, lacking any seasoning or preparation. The Yukon mash potatoes tasted bland and unappetizing, and the sauce served with the meal can only be described as terrible. It was a thin, oily brown sauce that seemed to have been poured straight from a jar, and it included mushrooms, which I don't eat. Classic bordelaise sauce should contain no mushrooms, and this should not have been called bordelaise sauce. Quite frankly, it was embarrassing. The prime ribeye was far from impressive; it had a strange, floury texture—perhaps it was frozen or reheated—and it was overcooked when we had ordered it rare. Most of it ended up on the plate, left to accompany the equally unappetizing Brussels sprouts. When we inquired about the house salad, we were told it contained romaine. However, there was no romaine at all, just a spring mix that looked like it came from a pre-packaged container. The only redeeming dish was the T-bone steak, which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and indeed more rare than the ribeye. I have no idea who was cooking on Thanksgiving night, but they certainly didn't seem to be the same chef who prepared our meal the previous evening. We left feeling disappointed and angry about the complete waste of time and money. We will be sure to advise everyone to avoid dining at The Eagle's Nest Cafe unless there is a significant improvement. Save yourself the disappointment!
