Bagel Market - Essex

Really wanted to like it here. Gave it three tries and ended up just eating the cream cheese off the bagel each time. First time: got the cheddar bagel and it was oddly sweet like maple syrup. Very off putting for a cheddar bagel with veggie creamcheese. Second time: bagel was very chewy and not the good chewy bagel texture some people like... Maybe it wasn 't toastedenough? Or so I hoped. Third try today: bagel tasted like it was made days ago and should have been thrown out. I ordered agarlic bagel with veggie cream cheese. Was unfortunately not edible enough to finish.

This was my go-to place, but it has fallen so far and it's just a pain to order here now. The staff look miserable all the time, seriously they look like they would rather chew their foot off than be there. Orders take way longer than they should. Iordered a wrap, not toasted, and it took 30 minutes and when I approached the counter to ask it looked like it bothered theguy. Previous to this visit the sandwich took 20 minutes. If you spend any time watching this place run, you'll see all theinefficiencies yourself, it makes no sense when other bagel places can do double the amount of sandwiches in half the time. Doyourself a favor and try any other bagel place, esp if you want a quick bite.

Every so often I like to give this place a chance to redeem itself because everyone speaks so highly of them! The bagels themselves are delicious. Although whenever I order anything more than just cream cheese my sandwich is always wrong. Missingextra ingredients I paid for is usually the case. The people who work on the register are usually the friendliest. I am alwaysgreeted with a smile. The people making the sanwiches always just seem unhappy and put off an uncomfortable attitude.

With a line out the door I thought ?this place must be incredible!? After about a 30min wait for a simple bagel I was so excited. Our expectations weren?t exactly met. Employees seemed annoyed we were there, bagels weren?t toasted, and thesandwiches were just ?okay?. With so many amazing local shops offering incredible bagels and coffee, we probably won?t beback. Update: Returned for a similarly lackluster experience recently. It wasn?t a fluke, the standard is sub par.

Came in for a quick lunch. Ordered a ham sandwich on wheat with veggies and no onion and turkey on white. Turkey was on wheat loaded with veggies and onion. Ham was on white. The kids at the counter accused us of having ordered wrong. After we showed ourreceipt, he then took back the sandwiches, took them apart, and rearranged them, giving them back to us. The resulting mess wasinedible and falling apart. We threw both away and went elsewhere. This place might have good bagels; I will never know. Thekids they have hired are disrespectful and brazen. Will not be back.
