Bidra med feedbackWe went to this place after a picnic by the chateau, hoping to have a relaxing drink. Eventually a waiter asked what we wanted. We ordered a rosé and dry white wine. He asked if it mattered which wine, to which I replied asking what they had. He then brought me the wine list. A couple of minutes later, a waitress literally grabbed the wine list from me. I asked if I could order, which she grudgingly allowed us to do, muttering about how the wine list was from the restaurant and wondering if I behave like that in my own country (like what exactly? . I tried to explain in French (the language I had used all along what had happened when she brought the drinks (waiter brought me the list you snatched from my grasp , but this seemed not to register. Her manner was still a disgrace. It is a strange world when you as a customer take the flak for what a waiter did. She could have told us politely that they were no longer serving, which would have been fine. Instead she just acted in an incredibly rude way. Strange way to run a business...
Maybe it's because we visited during the Espelette chili fete but it wasn't the best dining experience. Ok so the food was ok as it turned out but a set menu and no choices for a set price you had to pay up front when reserving detracted big time. We were then asked if we'd be having wine with dinner and then when we said yes were asked to pay for that up front as well...totally bizarre behaviour and not what you'd expect from any restaurant. When one of our party didn't come to eat there was a lot of argument about the refund even though the restaurant was largely empty when we dined. In the end all was resolved amicably, but the experience didn't make us feel like we'd return again.
We found this restarant quite late in the afternoon (around 2.30 pm) and asked politely if they still served food. The staff agreed to serve us but we had to wait for about 40 minutes for a salad a some almost raw meat with old dry chips. When we complained the staff answered unpolitely instead of apoligising!
Disappointed by this restaurant! flat heat and heat! Fries of the burnt or melted blow I don't even know !!!!! when we arrive at 14:30 we are told direct we will serve you as a unique dish no entry no dessert. short disappointed at the level of reception it goes again but the remarks of the boss to his employees in front of the clients c is medium.
Hello, having made a tour in this very nice little village of espelette, we have my partner and I, decided to restore us on site. having made the tour of some restaurants we booked in this restaurant. we have both prices the formula to 20 euros, very complete, simple and efficient. Inside, a beautiful slice of Basque paste and its guindillas. .. to follow a calf axoa accompanied by homemade fries (very good even if it would seem surprising to accompany it with the axoa). Then two beautiful slices of Basque cheese and cherry jam. to finish a part of Basque cake .to summarize , the dishes were clean, sufficiently copied and sincerely good . at this price I can only recommend this address , because it should not be forgotten that have is to spelt , so a place where there are a lot of tourists and 20 euros I don’t think to find better elsewhere. a big thank you to the staff and the boss who warmly welcomed us.
