Basilikum - Erlangen

One of the best places in Erlangen for a great evening. The food was fantastic. We had the pasta with truffels, parsta with sugo and beef carpaccio as starters. Main courses were duck and steak. Wine fit very well. Nice and romantic environment. Service was very friendly.

Very friendly host who is also the cook. Mediterreanen style kitchen. Very good, right portions. Nice atmosphere. Very good selection of wines.

Small and cozy. The food was spectacular. The meat was the best ever! incredible tender and perfectly made. Good service as well, with a romantic atmosphere. The chef picks the order! Very special. We'll come back.

We come here on a regular basis but this time we left the Basilikum disappointed! The food was good but didnt meet the price. The wine recommendation did not fit our food and eventhough we left the glasses half full we were not asked if something was not right. What I personally found very disturbing was the constant cigarette smell that came in from outside as people where standing in front the toilette door smoking. Additionally the normally beyond amazing service seemed to be having a bad day. At least I felt like I was disrupting her from something better to do. At the end we just wanted to leave as fast as possible.

Excellent food with great service! We look forward to coming to dinner again after the Corona restrictions!
