Bidra med feedbackA beautiful small tee room with a 1940s theme and a comforting house atmosphere. all the food and drinks are served on the vintage China and they can hear the sounds of vera lynn while they are visiting. the cakes are excellent. I chose a disc coffee and walnut cake that was absolutely delicious, a huge disc and beautiful and damp. the creamy filling was so smooth and not too sweet or sick. Although I didn't try to have a whole series of teacakes, sandwiches and scones. they also serve in the afternoon, for which I will reserve, asap. I have the feeling that carriages will become my new favourite place for a coffee and cake. be at the costa, carriages wins for atmosphere, coffee and cake hands down. update: I have since been back for the afternoon tea (prebooking is essential) and it is all they want to be afternoon tea. finger sandwiches, crisps, crudités, brownies, fairy cakes, scones with cream and strawberry jam, a huge plate of which each cake likes them best and a great selection of tees. served as they expect, on a cake stand and on vintage china and in china tassen. I've eaten everything for £12. to the happiness, but if you can't, they'll wrap it up so you can get away.
What a beautiful place. the creamtee we made with home scenes and camouflaged cream was superb and just £3 everyone, a real steal! the ambiente in the inner was 40s style, the personal was really friendly and the cake, oh these cakes, looked amazing. a real sound and a wonderful tasty bite. in any case a visit again!
Fantastic small tea rooms, beautiful delicious cakes and saunas, beautiful fresh coffee also. a beautiful selection of tee. the owner and the personal make them very welcome. we recommend it very much. such a wonderful place, far from the same old over expensive, underwhelming caffes they now see on every street.
Friendly staff, welcoming, beautiful brot used in the sandwiches, very fresh. also beautiful home made cake. very dog friendly, waitress friendly brought my dog a bowl of water and offered tasty. will definitely be back many times
As my wife and I love a good afternoon tea, we thought that we would pop into Carriages, and what a lovely experience it was! The staff are welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, the ambience is great and the food and tea was outstanding. There is a huge amount of variety and food in the afternoon tea, so much so we couldn't finish it all and had to take the rest home! It was without doubt one of the best afternoon teas that we have and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. (FYI, they don't do cards so in true 40's style they only take cash haha)
