Hotel Restaurant Engelberg

The food is well prepared and the service is very friendly. It is one of the few places in Engelberg, which is open after 2.30. Very practical when you get off the mountains.

The Hotel Restaurant englberg really liked.. I visit many Michelin stared reataurants, usually in large cities, and this restaurant reminded me of them. The food is humble European, uncomplicated, creative, beautifully presented and delicious. The starter and the most important courses were quite good, especially the pike perch record fillet Puddiing was as good as I had somewhere. The interior is an underlined modernist style that preserves the original properties with tasteful grey and slate colors. Very modern. Engelberg has a few restaurants like this, but this is the best value, and at least equal to the others in quality. In the night I visited set menu for 35 francs for a three course meal is seriously favorable for Engelberg. And if you earn your money outside Switzerland, you will appreciate that. Recommended.

Stopped in here for lunch in the summer when a lot of the other places were closed during the lunch hour. It was cool and cloudy, so dined inside and found the decor to be very nice and upscale. The server was pleasant and friendly, the menu was traditional Swiss, which was exactly what I wanted. I ordered a very interesting dish which consisted of Rösti topped with bacon and a fried Egg, sunny side up. It was delicious! Paired with Appenzeller Bier, this was a wonderful lunch. I recommend you try this place for a meal in Engelberg.

After a few suggestions from the staff at Hotel Edelweiss, we decided on Hotel Engelberg for dinner. There were a few other good places, but more than a few kilometers away and at 22 degrees on a cold winter night, we opted for a short 1km walk to the restaurant and it did not disappoint. Swiss food in general is some of the best prepared and made in the world, as I have experienced over the past 10 visits. As soon as we entered the establishment, the many enticing smells of food were wafting through the air and the atmosphere was quaint and cozy. A couple of Swiss beers before dinner was the order of the night...followed by two hearty dishes. We ordered the schnitzel with rösti and the chicken with vegetables. (poulet with gemuese) Both dishes were very tasty and filling. We left Hotel Restaurant Engelberg contently satisfied and full!
