Fluehmatt - Engelberg

Fluhmatt is one of my favourite spots in Engelburg. Its an easy walk from Ristis or up (up is up!)from the town. Once you have eaten their amazing Alpermacaroni you can walk down through the forest back to the town. The service is friendly and efficient. If you are looking for the real Swiss Alp feeling this is the place to go and includes an amazing view while you enjoy the culinary delights.

After a long hike in the mountains, I took a well-deserved break at this wonderful restaurant! I was warmly welcomed, enjoyed delicious food, and had an excellent cold beer! The lady who served me deserves a perfect score, she was very kind and left me with nothing but positive energy for the rest of the journey! I ordered a pork chop with french fries, ketchup, and mayonnaise. I sat outside on the terrace, which looked beautiful, adorned with flowers. The interior is just as warm and cheerful! It's the most beautiful place in Engelberg that I've been to! Tip: visit on a sunny day.

Die allseits gelobten Engelberger Älplermagronen nicht probiert, geht die Speisekarte nicht über das 08:15-Niveau hinaus. Landschaftlich schön gelegen, nutzt die Flühmatt das Potenzial nicht, das Natur und lokal-regionale Produzenten zu bieten haben, einmal abgesehen von Käse und Butter für die Älplermagronen. Es scheint an Inspiration zu mangeln, was von anderen Bergbeizli in Engelberg nicht gesagt werden muss (beispielsweise Restaurant Alpenrösli und Gasthaus Stäfeli).

Went there with my family on a friday evening. You can either drive there by car or request a stop on the Brunni cable car or just walk there. (20min drive from the valley). Its located at a quite romantic spot, along some farm houses with view to Mt Titlis and the valley. We were the only ones there at 6:30pm, pretty quiet for a friday evening. We ordered Älpermagronen for 4 people in advance along with our reservation. Therefore the food was very quickly served. The Älplermagronen were so delicious and could even be the best I've eaten so far. If you would like to enjoy the swiss kitchen, come to this place! Service is very friendly.

Lovely family run restaurant, old stove, great terrace, wonderful authentic food and owners that take care of you if you need to let pass a storm !
