Bidra med feedbackService in April 2016 was disappointing. I ordered the slow-boiled lamb as my main course, but received a piece of pure lamb fat instead. When we asked for a replacement, the chef said there was no lamb left and offered a fish dish instead. I was not impressed with the fish dish. Throughout the night, lamb dishes were being served despite the chef's claim of no lamb. To make matters worse, we were charged an additional 10 euros for the fish dish, even though the lamb dish was more expensive on the menu. The starters, consisting of crusty sushis with Fois gras and salmon, were tasty. However, the main dish was subpar, with overcooked sauce and a lack of creativity in presentation. The sea bass dish was especially disappointing. The lime and coke sorbet for dessert was decent but not exceptional. At a price of around EUR 50, this restaurant does not offer good value for money. The food was mediocre and the service was unacceptable. Overall, I understand why this restaurant is usually empty.
It is clear that this restaurant is known from Brussels and abroad... we talk about it. We had a birthday under the advice of friends. First reassuring contact after 20 minutes to put the car. A smiling welcome, an excellent white wine (Chardonnay) at the aperitif. The surprise menu is tempting for everyone. We're four years old. Little lover, followed by what everyone speaks, the alliance of Japan and France, sushi with foie gras... First interesting impression without slipping to pleasure. Amazing... Gimgembre is very fresh. The second dish also belongs to an association that leaves us, we would say, perplexed. Pure yarn with parmesan, Japanese wine sauce and spices, various vegetables from both cultures.. The third service is oriented towards softness with a white chocolate mousse and pistachios combining some summer fruits... It is difficult to find it if you like Japanese cuisine, just as it is difficult to accept the amalgam so that it is clear that these two culinary cultures (there is a personal opinion) have more to gain by staying separate... Try nevertheless, more by curiosity!
An original and fresh kitchen in a very zen atmosphere. A special mention for fat sushi to fall on the ground! Thank you. Oki to bring us so much happiness in the plate!
The cuisine is more French than Japanese but equally good, the Franco-Japanese blend is good, small sauce but the dessert is very good. good wines really worth going.
The starters, which included crusty sushi with Foie gras and salmon, were delicious and recommended. However, the main dish was disappointing due to the poor quality of the meat and overly salty sauce. The sea bass dish was essentially the same as the lamb dish, with just the protein swapped out and some pistachio crumbs added. The presentation was lacking in creativity. The dessert, a lime and coconut sorbet, was acceptable but not outstanding. Overall, I paid around 50 euros for a dining experience that was not worth the price. The food was mediocre and the service was unsatisfactory. It is clear to me why this restaurant always seems to be empty.
