Shilla Bakery Cafe - Ellicott City

My latte tasted like fake sugar, my cookies were hard like a stone. A biscuit filled with beans had about 5 ingredients listed on a shield in the branch, but the packaging at least 20. I forgot a few articles in my pantry and they are still soft and not cumsy 7 days later. Full of preservatives. I didn't get a single product worth it.

Today we bought a mocha coffee cake, and it did not taste fresh. The outer cake cream is as same as used with others bread cream stuffing. It was not the softer cake cream we used to eat. When we took a look at the top of the cake, and we saw there has a crack on top of cream. That means this cake was freezing a long time ago and not fresh..Kind of disappointed about the outer of the cream.

Shilla is one of our favorite bakeries to go, no matter is for special occasions or just weekly bread stocking. We especially like how their cakes have the fusion Asian French flavor, not overly sweet like the typical American style cakes.Also Like how they always keep the interior clean, pastries nicely placed. Would not recommend the coffee here. The young staff frequently burn the espresso which makes the coffee taste horrible. I asked for a vanilla latte and they used a sugar free syrup without advising me. I have an allergy to fake sweeteners so I definitely will not be returning. Go to Tours les Jours across the street instead.

3.19.23Good selection of pastries I like including bean buns, sweet rice red bean donuts, and croissants, however, cake slice flavors are limited. They didn't have any flavors I was really interested in. I settled for the mango mousse. I also purchased a slice of the fresh cream cake for my hubby and the red bean donut and bun for myself.The mango mousse flavor and texture was not for me, but I ate it as I was raised not to waste food, but I didn't particularly enjoy it. My pastries were good and my hubby's cake was good. I would just return for their packaged pastries. Few things to note: They are closed on Tuesdays. Located in Victoria Plaza. $5 minimum purchase for credit cards, $10 for Amex and Discover.
