Royalls Soda Shop - Elkin

Great place for a quick bite. Our waitress said we were out and she had us in ten minutes. The staff is fantastic, gave us a nice little hometown feeling. It is worth driving the extra few miles from the highway. They make their Pimento cheese every day in the house, can definitely say. Get the spicy version is risky, just do it if you can treat high quality jalapenos that are actually sharp. Milkshake flavors vary based on current ice aromas on which marker board is shown what they have now. Classic old style shakes, mixed with actual milk. Place has a certain old mother n pop vibe going from food to decor, to roaming train on the wall. Note: I couldn't find her menu online, so I took photos to put here.

Love the atmosphere-small city charm with great food, reasonable prices and friendly service. The hot dogs are famous (and should be! But there's so much more... it's just a great experience. Feel like a child who walks back in the city centre and gets an ice cone from the local diner/soda shop!

The price is correct and the atmosphere created by the friendly staff and owners makes you want to take off your coat and stay for a while. I don't get much out, but the food here brings me to good spirits. Great place for family, lunch and ice cream!

Best Hotdogs in all U S. Best Fritten. The largest old soda shop in the south. I found out they were closing. I'm sorry I really miss this place.

Had a wonderful day in Elkin with my family. After taking a long hike at the local park, we decided an ice cream was in order. Royall's is a wonderful throw back to the way ice cream shops used to be. They may not have the selection of a baskin robins, but the friendliness of the staff and price were on point. Will def visit this establishment again.
