Barley Pizza - Elizabeth City

Great place to eat. We were several times. Every time the food was great. Much better than the chain restaurants.

I had a cheese steak Sub as a lunch special that came with Pommes and a drink for $10. It is not bad for this price as it is a decent amount of food. I just wish they would add Mayo Senf in the sandwich as I ordered because it seems too dry without it. I also had wings here, but they were slandered and probably not well seasoned or crashed, so I was not impressed. Their pizzas are fine and similar to Van's, but because they cost less, they are probably a better value.

Chicken Parm Sandwich was made perfect. Provides chicken, only enough sauce and cheese. Bread was good quality Italian role. Everything for less than $8. Also a large, thin crust, cheese and mushroom pizza. Crust was great with a cornmeal dusting (traditional oven cooking method) Vice the rolling oven method that use large box pizza shops. Sauce and spices on pizza were good. Could have used some mushrooms, but this is my fault not to ask for extra! All pickup orders go to the drive in the window, so also plan on a wait in the line there! Line for the ride was packed, so locals know the food is delicious good and a good value! Come on!
