On a recent cruise to the Canary Islands, we organised a small tour on Tenerife. Just 8 of us in a minibus. The tour operator stopped at Bar La Tasca for lunch and well, what a lunch! First of all, our host brought out bottles of the local wines for us to share, followed by home baked aniseed bread and Tapas Querto (cheese tapas) which turned out to be fresh goats cheese with blueberry sauce; YUM! This was followed by a full service menu; I had thick vegetable soup (a meal in its own), followed by a massive serve of 7 croquettes, thick cut chips, salad and sauce with fresh olives. Wifey had goats stew which was terrific and full of flavour! If ever we visit again, we'll lunch here again!
Juan, the owner, greeted us at the door and talked us through the menu. Food was amazing and the owner provides such a good time for his patrons. He is definitely one of the best restauranteurs I have ever met. Try the croquettes and the goat as they are amazing. Authentic and delicious food.
