Bidra med feedbackFirstly, flying a frayed and tattered American flag in front of your restaurant is disgraceful. Either take it down every evening as you are expected to, or don’t fly our nation’s flag. Over 8 years I have dined here on 6 occasions. Up to current day we have been usually disappointed. Excellent quality food is completely destroyed with copious and heavy handed salting and sugar. On our last visit the food was so heavily salted that it was truly inedible. Definitely consider requesting the cook not overcook or oversalt when you order. Certainly Aceq is the best of taos, not medley. I would suggest replacing the Deschutes porter with the far superior Taos Mesa Scottish ale or their excellent milk stout, and perhaps one Taos Mesa IPA.
Immensely disappointing. One of the most dissatisfying dining experiences of the year. I gave them a full year to work out their “young cook” issue (the excuse i received one year ago), and the food was exactly the same this time! When 2 people pay $145 for a single appetizer, an overrated, heavily laden with added sulfites, bottle of wine and 2 entrees, one would expect to depart with some sense of satisfaction. Every dish was sabotaged by massive oversalting, and scorched to a charcoal. Why would a chef feel compelled to transform a perfectly acceptable piece of scottich salmon into a salty and burnt lump of coal? Why bother importing New Zealand lanb when you intend to smother it in a disgustingly sweet sugar glaze which is so salty that you cannot experience any other flavor? This place is so immensely overrated. If you are as high or intoxicated as the other customers were at 4:15 pm on a Thirsday, and you love to eat burnt food and salt, you will love this place. Honestly, the name should be changed to “Salty’s Char House “. please take down the shredded american flag out front. it is disgraceful
The service and Atmosphere is easily 5 stars but the food was disappointing. My friend wasn't crazy about her Hanger steak fries my Dorado was overcooked and everything else on the plate was flavorless. My watermelon mocktail was really good refreshing. The bread had a weird aftertaste but my soup was really good. This was our 1st visit since it's so close to our new condo, when we roll into town again I may try it again. Everyone has off nights. I'd go just for the atmosphere!
Love love love this place. My trip to Taos is never complete if we don't dine in here. Food and service it's always amazing! We took some friends for theirs first time and had a wonderful time. My only suggestion was the pasta was lack of flavor (salt others than that. Highly recommend this place ;
On the expensive side, but great and interesting food
