Bidra med feedbackMixed feelings about this restaurant. Initial observations were that the decor and ambiance didn 't quite justify the pricey menu. Some super interesting proteins like kangaroo and crocodile but very little information about how they are sourced or farmed which feels a little weird and possibly a missed opportunity. Not a huge selection or beer or wine if they 're going to call themselves a world experience, but the local beers were excellent. Felt like the Indian-style food was lacking heat/spice but the Mediterranean flavours were delicious. Highly recommend the sardine crostini starter. We didn 't stay for dessert which seems like a mistake based off of the other reviews but we were a little dissapointed as it didn 't live up to its high reviews.
I just love this place! Instead of having some usual dishes(steak sateh with some fries they have very interesting combinations: steak from kangaroo, bapao bread with crocodile, etc The staff here is super friendly and really knows everything about the dishes they are serving. Also the wines they have are excellent! We decided to take a bottle of an Australian Shiraz and really loved it. Our waiter was happy that we were happy with our choice, and even came back with some other bottles that he could recommend if we liked this wine : The food was just amazing! I started with the steamed bread with a crocodile curry and had the kangaroo steak as the main dish. After the waiter came to take the plates I told him that I just had one remark about the dish: they should be BIGGER : There actually was nothing left on my plate again and I think I even started to take of the top-layer of the stone of the plate because it still had some flavor : The dessert was a Caribbean cheesecake and if it is still on the menu, really can recommend it. Actually used my fingers to get the last bits of taste out of the plate, because it was so good : Because this place has such good food, it is quite busy. Really recommend making a reservation if you want to eat here.
Good place but pricy. Some super interesting proteins like kangaroo and crocodile with a good bear but very little information about how they are sourced or farmed which feels a little weird and possibly a missed opportunity. Not a huge selection or beer or...
Truly a spectacle if you are bored with normal restaurants this is the spot for you. If you have a selective taste this is probably not something for you.
Absolutely brilliant place. I'm vegetarian and normally don't expect too many options in a place like this, but Specktakel did not disappoint. I ordered the fixed vegetarian three course menu. There are two options for each of the First and Main I went for Japanese for both courses. The presentation of the food was beautiful, while the flavours were very different from regular fare and truly spectacular. For dessert, I had the coconut cheesecake, which was tasty. However, the best part of the meal for me was the coconut and straciatella ice cream which accompanied the cheesecake. I would go back just for that ice cream! The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the food, which improved the experience. Two thumbs up for Specktakel and recommended if you want to try something different.
