The pork shanks are amazing. And cheesesteak wit pineapple jalapeño chutney is one of the best I've had. Definitely try the boom boom sauce

Very good quality ingredients and the bun was very good...boom boom sauce was very good also.meant to try the soup, maybe next weekend. Awesome addition to the borough of Edwardsville!

I consider myself a cheesesteak aficionado...so when a new steak joint opens, I 'm there. I stopped in and had lunch today. I had a good old standard cheesesteak, fries and coke. It was a solid steak sandwich, crafted with high quality, fresh ingredients, well seasoned, PLENTY of cheese and expertly prepared. A fine sandwich. I was also glad to see the fries they source were not your low budget crinkles or steak fries. A better quality product, which were fried perfectly...crisp, not greasy or bitter tasting from overused oil. Now I will not say this is my favorite cheesesteak in the area...because I don 't have one. I frequent 3 or 4 steak places and I like all of them equally for different reasons, and Shakedown is definitely now on my Radar. Yje place was super clean and inviting and the stafdf was friendly and seemed very excited about their new business venture and what is to come in the future. The place has only been open 3 days so there are still going to be some bugs to work out but these guys have some awesome potential once they find their groove. The only issues I had...and these are more suggestions on improvement than complaints...The lunch menu lacked clarity. The place is called Shakedown Steaks and they only had 4 signature sandwiches on the menu...only one of which was steak. 2 were chicken and one vegetarian. There was a list of toppings and no pricing for the toppings and no clarification about orderin a basic steak sub and adding your own toppings. Could be construed as a lkittle confusing. Thew only other thing I 'd personally like to see is a bigger cheesesteak option. Not that the sandwich was small...it was a respectable sub...but I am a fat guy who likes to eat and one can never have a big enough cheesesteak. All in all was a very positive experience and I strongly recommend trying the place...I know I will be back!!

2 Cheesesteaks w/ 4 pieces of cheese an order of fries $19.07... Not bad! It's delicious, sooo tender!! Fries are really good crispy, kinda reminds me of the ones from Long John Silvers... The buns are amazing too!!! Give them a try, won't regret it!

I can honestly say the Cosmic Charlie is the best cheesesteak I can remember eating! Excellent experienced chefs, friendly wait counter staff, and a welcoming atmosphere make this more than worthwhile! If you don't stop in, you're making a mistake.
