Bidra med feedbackOne of the best things in the area of the city of Kansas is the many small barbecue facilities that you can stumble over. Roscoe is an excellent example. It is only open weekdays (11-3 Mondays, 11-5 Tuesdays thru Fridays), but it is worth leaving work early to some delicious grill. I really liked her sauce, which had a pronounced tumble, to go with the sweet.
I 've tried all of the best bbq places in kc and can easily say Roscoes has the best burnt ends. They only have them on certain days but oh my gosh, so worth it.
It's hard to express the feelings that rise up when you take your first bite of a burnt end at Roscoe's. The crunchy exterior teases you with smokiness and quickly gives way to the full flavor of the interior of the chunk of heaven you've just been served. As the meat melts (literally) in your mouth it's replaced with a sweet and spicy after taste that lingers just long enough to want another bite. Enough of the miracle called burnt ends at Roscoe's. Lingering on that culinary marvel would not do justice to the other delights that await you at Roscoe's. Ribs. Just the right balance between meaty and the precious fat that flavors a good rib. And tender too. Too much to say good about the sides and other offerings. Decide for your self which is your favorite. They are all candidates. I live in mid town and pass by at least 4 of the critically acclaimed barbeques to make the 30 minute drive to the best of the best.
I am a KC native and never try other BBQ spots, this place is a hidden bbq gem. The burnt ends were seasoned to a T and the ribs were seasoned so wonderfully and fell right off the bone! The BBQ sauce has a classic KC taste and pairs perfectly with the meat. Great BBQ!
All I can say is WOW! I grew up here in Kansas, moved to Ohio in my 30’s and come back to visit family occasionally. This is the BEST barbecue I have ever had!!! The ribs were juicy, the beef cooked to perfection, and the sausage was out of this world!!! We got the family feast $105 plus added 1/2 pound of sausage of $8. All to go. It came with large container of baked beans (you can really taste the brown sugar in them , coleslaw (it had dill pickle in it—a strange combo, but amazing! and fries (crinkle cut with perfect amount of salt . We will definitely be back every time we come to town! Fed our family of four two adults, 20 year old son, and 18 year old daughter (two body builders and had plenty of leftovers.
