Shanghai 456 - Edmonton

The food is great, we went there several times. My family and my friend like it too.

It was hard to alert the servers when we wanted something. We ordered the Shanghai dumplings, crispy marinated duck and a few other dishes - one of which was super. I was really disappointed at the Shanghai dumplings because the taste was not so great. The crispy marinated duck was much too salty and not really crispy. Wouldn't go back.

We ordered a lot of food, even though we don't know much about Chinese cuisine. We just chose dishes that looked interesting or that were recommended online. Everything was incredibly delicious. The server was very friendly and patient with us. We definitely plan on returning again!

I have always enjoyed dining at this restaurant. Despite some negative reviews, I have never eaten in, but I have picked up my order once before. They only accept cash, but I usually order through Skip The Dishes. In my opinion, the food is good and they always get my order right. They even add a complimentary dessert. Unfortunately, they did not have the braised eggplant dish on this occasion. The lady called back right away to offer a refund or suggest something else. I ended up getting the braised tofu and vegetables dish instead.

Delicious. Some of the best Chinese food I have had in the Province. For two people we ordered the hot and sour soup, two orders of the soup dumplings, beef pan fried dumplings, spring rolls and the shanghai noodles, they also serve you tea as soon as you sit down. This was obviously too much to eat for two people and we ended up taking home the beef dumplings and the noodles.<br/ <br/ The soup dumplings are out of this world, best I have ever had. The spring roll was flavourful and you could actually taste the ingredients. The beef dumplings were very tasty, but be careful, they are very juicy and explode when you eat them. The best part of this restaurant was that when we left we did not have that gross feeling you typically get after eating too much Chinese food. I cannot wait to go again!
