C & S Seafood Restaurant - Edmonton

Did the takeout on a large scale as we had someone in the office who could order us some good authentic Chinese food. The restaurant is modest but fits the neighbourhood well.

I ordered delivery through Skip the Dishes . I ordered 5 items and 4 of them were very good. The shrimp was deep fried with the shell and tail on. It 's impossible to shell the shrimp when it 's been deep fried. I had to throw away the shrimp and the $14 it cost. I would order again but no shrimp.

We had a family meal here and arrived for our 5:30 reservation on a Sunday. There are a few large tables that can accommodate about 10 people but best to make a reservation in case they are occupied. During our dinner, the smaller tables were filled up. The seats are comfortable and it can get a little tight for space if others are seated at tables around you. After we ordered, the food didn't take long to arrive at the table and there wasn't long gaps in between the 10 dishes. The presentation of the food was ok, and some of the dishes didn't look as appetizing as at other restaurants. The taste of the food was alright with some dishes not having enough flavour. One dish had boneless chicken, and they didn't cut it very well and it was more like 3 pieces. The bird's nest was dark and it looked like the oil wasn't changed recently. The shrimp in the shrimp with peaches dish were small and deep fried. The service throughout the meal was good with drinks refilled. They also offered dessert at the end of the meal. There are a few things that stood out about the restaurant. The emergency exit is a door that is all covered up with paper and there are chairs right against the door. N

In a conversation with some family, I was complaining that there was nowhere local that offered deep fried minnows with spiced salt and they dropped a bomb on me and said C&S has them and they have been here for years. So I packed up the wife and kids and checked out this tip right away. They do have them here and they are deliciously crispy and salty with a hint of spice. So happy that I don't need to travel to Vancouver just for these delectable little minnows. Nice bonus that the rest of the food here tasted great. Can't believe that this great restaurant was hiding right in front of me for years. Food portions are huge and well priced. Service was awesome as well as whom I assume was the owner was wonderful as she had recommended some delicious entrees to try out. Pro tip, washrooms here are questionable but that's a good thing, that's a clear sign that the food is ? Trust me.

We were there on Thursday for lunch. Their lunch specials are including varieties of noodles, fried rice, all for $11/ plate. It's very cheap compared to the other restaurants. The portions are fairly big and tastes very good. Definitely good value for your money.Parking: Parking spaces in front of the restaurant and it's free
