Most importantly it was cost effective too as they were reasonable with impeccable quality
I tried the butter chicken paired with coconut rice, delicious. I'm not sure who the chef was but I was told this place is family owned. The decor is authentic with beautiful colours. We took advantage of the weekend brunch prices, I believe 12-5 PM. Expect to pay 25-30 per person for your meal. Overall I enjoyed it and will go back.
By far the best Indian restaurant in the city. My husband and I eat here every chance we get. The location is off the beaten path, but being in an old house makes for a unique experience. It's never been overly busy when we've gone, and is nice to support an authentic, locally run business. We went last night for our anniversary and again were not disappointed. Always walk away with left overs for the next day as the portion sizes are great. We usually get about 3 or 4 dishes to share along with some naan. The butter chicken is so flavourful and tender, and one of our new favourites it the gobi manchurian - unbelievably tasty! They also have a private event room upstairs where they host live dosa parties (haven't tried that yet but would love to). We've had the dosa's when we've been for dinner and they are also delicious. I see some negative reviews on here and all I have to say is that we've never been disappointed with the food or service here. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for an authentic, locally run restaurant.
The service was friendly and good, but the food just isn't worth it. There are so many good South Indian restaurants on the south side with significantly more flavourful food. Everything we ordered, even the dish that was recommended to us as spicy, didn't even leave a tingle in our mouths. I was with a white Canadian who concluded with me that the restaurant is designed for people without much exposure to Indian food. Having been to South India myself, I definitely did not taste anything remotely similar.
By far the best indian food I've had in Edmonton. Very small place, but it has a patio. Service is exceptional and the overall vibe is beautiful. This is a must-try in Downtown if you enjoy indian cuisine.
