Bidra med feedbackI can honestly say this was the best steak I have ever had. Tender perfection. The food was excellent and ample; we especially liked being able to combine small samplers of starters 'Assaggini ' little tastes. Another winner is the Beef Short Rib Ravioli. Our visit was especially enjoyable because, while there was light jazz music playing, we were not bombarded by kitchen noise or high ceiling 'clatter ' that seems to be the standard at newer, trend driven restaurants. The staff is well informed and very friendly and overall the restaurant is elegant yet relaxed.
>Came for supper here a few months ago. Never got around to reviewing it, But I see a few of the things I ate are no longer on the menu. >We were a bigger group, So to start with the place/menu is quite conducive to larger groups. The assaginni was perfect to pass around a few small plates and get everyone In the mood to eat along with some antipasti. Smoked salmon, Carpaccio, Calamari, Sausages, Prosciutto, Olives..... You get the idea. It was great. >Now that everyone was ready to eat, we ordered a healthy mix of everything they had to offer. Wild ragu gnocchi, Ribeye steak, Lamb shank, Duck, Bison cannelloni, The sorrentino pizza and 2 repeats. >I wont go over every dish but the star of the night was the Bison cannelloni. It was perfectly balanced and rich as it comes. Definitely not something I'd eat if I was on a diet, But what a plate of food! I would go back for this dish alone. The steak was done just as you would expect a steakhouse to prepare it. Very nice job there as well. The duck, Lamb shank and Ragu gnocchi were packed with flavor, Perfectly seasoned and left everyone fully satisfied. >The only criticisms I have on the night would be the duck portion was definitely on the small side, Likely 4oz of meat. For $30 I would've hoped for a bit more. The other nit pick I have was the pizza, Now don't get me wrong the crust was exactly how it should be. Slightly charred, Crunchy and just all around delicious. The toppings, I felt, took some of that away. Even though I know Italian pizza is supposed to be light and thin, I felt it was a little too sparse. Little more meat and cheese would have gone a long way. By no means were either of these dishes bad mind you.>The service was also on point, No criticisms at all. Food, Wine(lots of wine) and Anything else came out promptly, the staff were incredibly knowledgeable of the food and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for doing it right. It's becoming a rare thing these days.>Overall this place is great, I'd recommend this to anyone for a date night or even a special occasion as we did. It's not cheap, But you certainly get value here.
Visiting Edmonton for business, my collegues took me out to dinner at Bistecca and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I had the bison steak and though it was perfect. It always seems as if specialty meats are always better in Alberta than BC. Suprising the prices here are quite reasonable for what they serve. We also tried a number of appitizers and thought they were all great. Overall a great dinner and great place to visit if you are in Edmonton for a short visit.
Reservation for dinner on route to concert at Commonwealth Stadium.<br/ Fairly impressed.<br/ Solid menu.<br/ Reasonable prices.<br/ Great ambiance.<br/ Service...well lets just say our server seemed...overwhelmed and perhaps a little confused.<br/ <br/ Their ' Little Tastes ' appi. options entices an 'I 'd like one of everything ' responce.<br/ I settled on the Calabrese Sausage, and the Grilled Scallops. Both quite good. Sauce with scalops I found to be on the very spicey side.<br/ One of my favorite things is thar they offer 'half orders ' of pasta. So naturally..I had to try two different pastas!<br/ House-made Bison Cannelloni, rich and delicious.<br/ Beef Short Rib Ravioli....AMAZING. Probably the most decadent ravioli I have ever had. I...personally...highly recommend this dish!<br/ Between the wife and I, we enjoyed 3 'little tastes ', 2 half orders if pasta, one dinner of Brazed Pork Belly (from additional, seasonal menu...delicious! , one glass of wine, and a Coconut white chocolate Creme Brule (which was decadent and savory . All for $120 before tip.<br/ We will be back!
We went on a Tuesday evening, so the establishment wasn't overly busy. The staff were very attentive. We were seated immediately. Our server gave us an excellent rendition of the menu and the daily specials. Everything was done with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. The timing of our server was spot on for giving ample time to enjoy our cocktails, appetizers, the main course and dessert. Food was delicious; Pasta Main and the Pork Tenderloin were our Entree's at couldn't have been better! The offering of Cheese and a glass of wine as an after dinner delight rather than a calorie and sugar packed dessert was a really great option (Despite it being a great option we still went for the calorie sugar! 2 Cocktails, 2 Appetizers, 2 Main Courses and 1 Dessert came to $98...not an unreasonable price at all!!I have to say that I eat out a lot, and Bistecca reminded me of what it meant to eat in a place that has a LOT of experience in the restaurant industry and an establishment that I interpret to REALLY CARE about your dining experience. A real dining pleasure.
