Bidra med feedbackI had visited dough during the festival and was impressed by their great, well-designed pizzas. I've been pumping in a few times since, sometimes for a quick disc, other times for a full cake. I was happy with all the localities, but I didn't find the killer dish on their menu.
Went in with a friend and got a gorgeous pizza wrap for a brilliant price! Would recommend to anyone great value for money. The food is quick and fresh and tastes great
On a constant quest to find great places for lunch in the New Town, I was delighted to read about a new place that has recently appeared on the Edinburgh pizzeria scene: Dough on Rose Street. Now, you could argue that pizzas in Edinburgh are pretty much sorted, with the likes of La Favorita and Origano taking care of that front very nicely, thank you very much. But, having tried this place a couple of times now, I believe that Dough really could become a legitimate competitor to these old Edinburgh favourites.
Nice little shop with some seating indoors and out, quite a bit of variation on the menu including multiple vegan options and some nice sides as well. We got some mushroom arincini and a vegan parmigiana, getting the food was really fast and we sat outside to eat and it was quite a chilled atmosphere and great way to end the day.
Ordered by phone and it was ready and waiting when I arrived to pick it up 15 mins later. Very convenient location in relation to my hotel. One of the best pizzas I've had in my living memory, lovely woodfired texture and taste, fresh quality ingredients. I had the Frizzane pizza, garlic cheese roulade (a foot long cheese and garlic twist made with the same excellent pizza dough and also woodfired) and the nduja arancini which were much larger than I expected (about the size of a small pool ball) so I gave the second to my Dad. All the food was really nicely cooked and was piping hot at point of collection; unfortunately the northern wind cooled it down on the 7 min walk back to the hotel but didn't affect the eating experience significantly. I would definitely get it again and I recommend it highly as a quality takeaway pizza. Artisnal ingredients and cooking methods without being over priced (at least as a meal on holiday); the 12 pizza was £10 and was a good adult portion. I have a good appetite as well so it would probably feed two moderately hungry adults with one pizza and a couple of sides. Staff helpful and relaxed too
