A nice spot for a special occasion. Food was beautifully cooked with some interesting pairings of flavours. The chicken was a stand out, I had forgotten that eating chicken in a restaurant could be enjoyable and juicy rather than boring and dry. The menu wasn’t quite as mind blowing as I would have liked on the day that we went, but it’s always changing. Service was very good. It was a bit slow, but I got the impression this was because they wanted to make the whole visit into an experience. We went for lunch because I wanted to try it for a lighter price first. I did find that the pricing here was unfortunately more proof that it’s becoming financially painful in general to eat in Edinburgh over the last year. I had seen online that the lunch menu was around £33 but when I arrived I was greeted with a £40 or £70 menu, plus service charge. Really enjoyed our dinner here the other night. Wonderful food and lovely atmosphere. Standout for me was the smoked pumpkin seed pesto on one of the dishes, interesting flavour that totally elevated the dish! We recently went to Borough for lunch and absolutely loved it. Chilled atmosphere paired with delicious food and drinks. We especially adored the oysters, the pork and the liver parfait.
