Frankenstein Pub - Edinburgh, City of

Finally have a place to rave about on Tripadvisor! We saw a few TikToks from the bar while we were visiting Edinburgh and loved them so we HAD to come and visit! We didnt try the food but the cocktails were delicious! Atmosphere was great! We plan to come back wheb we return to Edinburgh again! So wish we were up for Halloween to see this place in action!

The cocktail pitchers at this restaurant are amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect for hanging out with friends. We didn't end up staying for food, but we had a great time enjoying the entertainment.

Awful! The food was burnt and tasted gross. We couldn’t even eat it, was like charcoal. cocktails weren’t great either. Waste of money!

Good fun, cool design, on the gothic vibes. We went on a Tuesday and it was quiet until about 8ish. They only serve pizza and nibbles but it was still yummy! (Obsessed with the haggis fries). They do quiz nights on Tuesdays and it seemed alright. They have a cool anamatronic frankenstein monster that descends from the ceiling, it has flashing lights and creepy music etc but this happens every 45 mins 1 hour which can get a bit grating after 4 times over

This was such a unique experience! Some of the reviews had me a little concerned but everything from the reservations online to the food was great. The decor is amazing! I love the classic black and white Frankenstein film is playing on several screens. The monster “show” which runs about every 40 minutes is a lot of fun and well done. Make sure you sit upstairs to get the best view. The drinks were fun and unique (try the Black Death) and the food is very basic but pretty good. One thing I will say is that management needs to get their staff more help! These poor people who were incredibly kind and attentive, are seriously stressed trying to take care of everyone. They did a great job but they really need some Additional help as they were ran off their feet! I have read some other reviews that said the staff was rude. This was not the case for us. They were all lovely. However seeing how stressed they appeared I can understand why they might occasionally be rude because they are short staffed and could use some extra help! Overall great experience and I’d recommend checking it out!
