Costa Coffee - Edinburgh, City of

Asked to fill the form for seat in visit and got coffee in paper cup. There is much different in taste of coffee in paper cup I and do not enjoy it. When I said about my issue I was totally ignored.

The staff in Chesser have long been known to be grumpy locally but today takes the buscuit. An elderly lady ahead of me, who was using the counter to steady herself, was barked at to 'move back ' her husband tried to explain but he was ignored. Perhaps the staff could have allowed the elderly, unsteady lady to take a seat, but no, they prefer to shout at her. By the time I got to the counter the server was equally short and abrupt with me. Took my order wrong, then when I was given the marshmallows I hadn 't asked for, but was charged for, they were in a dirty pot, they were soggy and wet. Disgusting. Atmosphere is terrible here due to the staff stomping about the place. If they hate their jobs so much then find another.

Needing somewhere to sit and chill for a bit, this was the closest place to where I was shopping. Parking was a bit of an issue but eventually found a space and went inside. The QR code was taking an age to work so the staff took my details manually for Test and Protect. I didn't have to wait long to get my coffee unlike others just after I was served! The coffee and muffin was really tasty and I enjoyed them both while reading my book. The toilet was spotlessly clean and the staff cleaned everything very well when someone left.

My family stopped in here on a day trip to Saint Andrews and everyone grabbed a cup of coffee. The coffee was good.

I agree with the other reviews. Experience in this cafe is anything but pleasant and relaxing. Floor cleaning and furniture noisely being moved when you are trying to enjoy a coffee. I am a regular customer and find the standard disappointing.
